At some point in time, we all must surrender to uncertainty. We are never trained in this; in fact, we are taught the opposite! We are told to plan, stick with the plan and do not get off course. But what happens when the wind brings a new set of circumstances? What do we do when there is a hurricane of the heart and change is imminent?
There are times in life when we are at a crossroads, a place of decision and all options may look good. What do you do? How do you access wisdom to make the correct choice? Do you call a trusted friend, read up on your options or worry about which way to go? While all those may be habits from the past, I believe there is a resource most of us overlook: the pause. Here are 3 steps to recognizing when there is a pause and how to pay attention to its meaning.
It’s been a few weeks now since we have been ordered to stay home and shelter in place due to the coronavirus crisis. Some folks rushed to the store to stock up on toilet paper and food items while others climbed into a bottle of vodka to find a place of refuge. No matter where you found yourself the next day, let me just say, this is not about judgement, but a time to encourage.
Change makes its way into all of our lives. Sometimes we sense it coming and try to push it back, thinking we will somehow block its intrusion. Other times change is thrust upon us by a decision of another person, or the sequence of events that catch us off guard.
